Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, a joint venture partnership between SSE Renewables and Total Energies, has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer.
Seagreen welcomed the accreditation as a "significant milestone" that recognises its dedication to promoting fair and unbiased employment practices within the offshore wind renewable energy sector, contributing to a Just Transition.
Seagreen joins SSE offshore wind projects Beatrice and Greater Gabbard who already proudly have their Living Wage accreditations too.
The Living Wage accreditation, awarded by the Living Wage Foundation, reflects Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm's commitment to ensuring that all employees, including contractors and subcontractors, receive a wage that meets the basic cost of living. By voluntarily adhering to the Living Wage standards, Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm demonstrates its pledge to support the well-being and financial stability of its workforce allowing employees the opportunity to provide for their families and plan for the future.
Natasha Leask, Seagreen General Manager said: "SSE were early adopters of the real Living Wage and became accredited in 2013 making them the UKs largest accredited Living Wage employer at that time.
"With Seagreen now being part of the real Living Wage movement, a growing civil society campaign that believes a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay – the key message is that Seagreen really values its people and best practice.
"This is an important stride forward for the offshore industry with Beatrice and Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farms already proudly having their Living Wage accreditations too."
