Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Award Launches

Construction News Image
Scottish Renewables has announced the launch of a new award programme to acknowledge the businesses and organisations from across Scotland that are delivering the changes needed to achieve our clean energy future.

Scotland stands at the forefront of a vibrant renewable energy industry and these awards will recognise people at the heart of the sector who make the deployment of billion-pound renewable energy projects possible.

The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards will celebrate a wide range of businesses, including those with a rich history in oil and gas, transport or nuclear, who have transferred their expertise to help develop and deliver cleaner, greener technologies in Scotland.

From cable suppliers, data analysts and safety teams, to consultants, lawyers and hauliers, the awards will recognise the commitment, collaboration and innovation of the organisations and individuals delivering specialist work across all renewable energy technologies.

For SMEs who are harnessing the potential of Scotland's clean energy ambition, the awards are an opportunity to be centre stage in front of the leading players in the renewable energy industry.

Emma Harrick, Head of Energy Transition and Supply Chain at Scottish Renewables, said: "It's an exciting time for Scotland's renewable energy industry and The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards is a brilliant opportunity to champion the people at the heart of our energy future.

"These awards will celebrate the hard work, collaboration, and innovation of the organisations and individuals working across Scotland who are delivering the transformational changes needed to achieve a net-zero energy system.

"Delivering the new energy projects that will help us meet our low-carbon targets is a momentous task and will require a vast array of skills, experience, and engineering know how - that's where the supply chain comes in.

"Scotland already has a rich supply chain of businesses with decades of expertise in sectors such as oil & gas, aerospace, construction and rail who are applying their experience to green technologies such as offshore and onshore wind, low-carbon heat, solar, green hydrogen and long duration energy storage.

"If your business is playing its part in Scotland's clean energy future and wants to be centre stage in front of leading players in the renewable energy industry, we want to hear from you."

The event, headline-sponsored by TotalEnergies, will be held at the P&J Live in Aberdeen on August 22.

Nominations are now being accepted from any businesses working in the renewable energy industry in the following categories:

• Diversity and Culture Award
