Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has begun construction work on a new development of 233 new homes, including 20 affordable properties in Bishopton.
Work starting on this latest development off Craigton Drive in Dargavel Village extends the housebuilder's continued and significant investment in the local area and its commitment to playing a key role in delivering the master plan vision for Dargavel Village. This already includes the provision of a new primary school, a new village square, a retail and leisure hub, a new junction off the M8 motorway, and a park/ride to support Bishopton train station.
In addition to the associated infrastructure needed for a development of this nature, the design within this part of the masterplan includes a central open space with an informal play area, and pockets of green space throughout. New pedestrian and cyclist priority routes will also provide access to the wider development and along and over the Cordite Burn.
Martin Findlay, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland added: "We are pleased to confirm that construction work is underway to allow us to deliver our next development of new homes off Craigton Drive within Dargavel Village, Bishopton. This continues our support of this major regeneration project in the west of Scotland that is transforming the local area into a thriving new community.
"As well as an impressive range of new homes, our development will continue to contribute to a range of economic benefits for the local Renfrewshire area, including jobs, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses, and we look forward to positive discussions with the local authority in order to progress matters.
"We believe that Dargavel View will complement our other successful developments at Dargavel Village. We also hope to be able to provide a continuous build programme from our existing development, which continues to be a popular choice with a wide range of buyers."
