CCG (Scotland) has officially handed over 46 new affordable homes to Partick Housing Association (PHA) at Bearsden Road in Anniesland.
Local Councillors and representatives from Glasgow City Council's Neighbourhoods, Regeneration, and Sustainability department joined PHA and CCG officials for a tour of the £10 million development. They had the opportunity to meet residents who have already moved into the new homes.
The development includes a mix of one and two-bedroom flats, available for both social and mid-market rent. This significant addition to the affordable housing stock in the west of the city will provide much-needed housing options for local residents.
Councillor Kenny McLean, Convener for Housing at Glasgow City Council, said: "It's great to see this fantastic development reach completion. These social and mid-market-rent flats in Anniesland, will meet the needs of a range of people and bring new life to this site beside the canal. These are much-needed homes in this part of the city, and the council was delighted to support this development, which I'm sure will be a great place to live."
Partick Housing Association's Chair, Helen Turner said: "We're thrilled to be marking the completion of our latest development. These wonderful new flats have transformed a vacant site and provided much-needed quality affordable homes in the West of Glasgow."
The development is made up of two blocks of flats reaching five storeys, offering a renewed sense of frontage to Bearsden Road and Crow Road and an iconic gateway to Anniesland. Resident parking is included alongside outdoor amenity space completed with public art and a new pedestrian and cycle path next to the vibrant Forth & Clyde Canal.
CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: "CCG is delighted with the development at Bearsden Road. The complete project represents six years of hard work; from acquisition to concept, design and delivery, the process has been led by CCG in partnership with Partick Housing Association alongside MAST Architects. It shows how collaboration and partnership working can unlock challenging sites to deliver much-needed affordable housing and the results speak for themselves as it is a great addition to this buoyant West End community."
