Property consultants King Sturge LLP have announced the acquisition of Glasgow-based niche retail property specialist Hamilton Glen.
This follows the recent acquisition of London based Leslie Furness in January and now completes the national network King Sturge.
They are now able to provide clients in Scotland and throughout the UK with an integrated retail team, specialising in shopping centre development, agency and asset management advice, as well as occupier agency advice.
Fiona Hamilton of Hamilton Glen will be joined by her colleagues Douglas Hogg, Terry McFarlane and Colin Cammidge in King Sturge's new Glasgow office at 145 St Vincent Street. The move will deliver instant exposure to this key sector at the Scottish level and complement the existing retail expertise in the firm at national level.
Charles Miller, National Head of In-Town Retail, said: "We have had plans for some time to expand our retail property services throughout the UK. This acquisition is yet another major step forward towards achieving this ambition."
Mark Perowne, King Sturge Managing Partner said: "Fiona and her team add additional skill sets to our existing team of shopping centre asset management as well as expanding our geographic spread. We are delighted that they have decided to join us and to be a part of us expanding our retail business both in the UK and across Mainland Europe.
Fiona Hamilton, who set up Hamilton Glen in 1991 added: "We view the move as a natural progression for our expertise and a platform to grow our skill base both in the UK and Europe. Personally this is like a home-coming for me as I started my training at King Sturge in the Edinburgh office and I now feel as if this 'completes the circle'."
