Miller Developments Achieves High BREEAM Rating For West Lothian Accomodation

Miller Developments has achieved a 'Very Good' BREEAM rating for its newest development, Alba Business Pavilions, in Livingston, which reached completion in October 2008.

BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the world's longest standing and most widely used environmental assessment method for building; setting the standard for sustainable development and demonstrating a high level of achievement.

Alba Business Pavilions, which totals 31,500 sq ft, has received the second highest BREEAM status, and highlights Miller Developments' dedication to creating energy efficient buildings.

The architecturally striking buildings located in Alba Business Park, feature a range of environmental and energy efficient aspects including the buildings being acoustically enhanced, high frequency ballasts in the internal lighting, daylight controlled external lighting, provision of dedicated cycle storage areas and a comprehensive green transport plan to promote alternative modes of transport.

Neil Finnie, Miller Developments, said: "We are delighted our newest development has achieved a high rating and demonstrates our commitment to providing modern accommodation which impacts less on the environment.

Designed by PMP Architects and constructed by Ashleigh (Scotland), the Alba Business Pavilions are located just off the M8 near Livingston, West Lothian, and are formed in three blocks in an attractive courtyard setting. The buildings feature fully flexible floorplates and, depending on size, occupiers can choose from terraced, semi-detached or detached properties. Suites range from 1,700 sq ft to 8,810 sq ft.

Leading food and catering company Compass Contract Services Ltd, is the first tenant on board at the modern property.

Alba Business Park covers 96 acres and has already attracted companies including Scottish Water, NEC Computers, Canon, Epson and Plexus. The Park offers a wide range of facilities including a restaurant, lecture theatre and nursery on site, with a Bannatynes gym located directly adjacent to the park.
