Dunn's, winner of the 2007 bar refurbishment of the year award, has been appointed to deliver an extensive £650,000 expansion and redesign of The Parkville Hotel in Blantyre for Lisini Pub Co.
A popular community bar and wedding venue, Lisini took ownership of The Parkville in March this year with the aim of committing a significant investment in the expansion and redesign of the venue which celebrates its 50th birthday next year.
Commenting on the contract, Michael Dunn, managing director of Dunn's, said: "We're delighted to help play a part in taking The Parkville forward with an extension to the building and the creation of a 100-seater eatery, giving locals and Lanarkshire’s business community alike a fantastic place to eat and enhancing its offering as a venue for weddings and other functions.
"This project is the perfect example of how experienced licensed trade operators are investing to beat the credit crunch. Astute operators are seeking to raise the returns they receive from outlets by repositioning existing units and adding new facilities and revenue streams, such as the new eatery at The Parkville."
Mr Dunn said shrewd operators can reduce the cost of any such investment by appointing established design-and-build specialists who can consolidate the various elements of traditional refurbishments by coordinating and controlling all aspects of the process to deliver projects on time and within budget.
"One of the key reasons why hospitality sector operators should act now is that they can get their jobs done more cost-effectively today than six months ago because contractors are so keen for work that their rates are now extremely competitive," he said.
The expansion and redesign of The Parkville Hotel is scheduled for completion in February 2009.
Scotland's leading complete design and build specialist to the leisure sector, Dunn’s unique solution comprises redesigns, refurbishments and new build developments in venues as varied as style bars, pubs, restaurants and hotels.
In addition to The Parkville Hotel, Lisini Pub Co owns The Angels Hotel and The Castle Rooms in Uddingston and The Croft in Croftfoot.
