The Panel gave the green light to Forth Housing Association for more rented homes to be built on land between Polmaise Home Farm and King George's Field, St. Ninians Road. The new homes will be located at the north western end of the site and consist of two blocks of four terraced properties, a pair of semi detached homes, two blocks of nine flats and one block of six flats.
The additional 42 new homes, which includes eight additional private homes, changes the mix, numbers and tenure of the proposed housing development previously granted to Persimmons Homes in 2007 for 67 private and 14 affordable homes. The additional 34 social rented homes takes the total number of rented homes to 48, just under 40% of the site's total. Access to the development will be from the St. Ninians Road. It is anticipated that the new homes will be complete by February 2010.

The Panel agreed that the application be subject to changes to the Section 75 Legal Agreement to reflect changes to Education and Play Space contributions since the original planning consent was granted.
Planning Panel Chair, Councillor Alasdair MacPherson on welcoming the additional homes said: "These new homes will provide much needed social rented housing for the Cambusbarron area."
Concern over parking spaces in the development will be addressed in conditions attached to the consent to provide at least an additional 4 car parking spaces and to provide 'pedestrian and cycle friendly' footpaths.
