Construction work began in late 2007 to create brand new school and community facilities in locations throughout Perth and Kinross.
The six campuses will open between mid-2009 and late 2011 and will provide a significant improvement to learning and teaching provision as well as widening access to sport, leisure, cultural and community learning activities.
Councillors heard that the four larger campuses, Breadalbane in Aberfeldy, Strathearn in Crieff, Loch Leven in Kinross and North Inch in Perth will act as community 'hubs' with a range of Council services and partner agencies involved. To ensure their effective and smooth operation, the report sets out recommendations for the management of these campuses and highlights the important roles that the Headteachers as Campus Leaders and other senior school staff members will play in this respect.

Separate arrangements will be put in place for the campuses at Glenearn in Perth and in Blairgowrie to reflect their different size and focus.
Lifelong Learning Convener, Councillor Liz Grant said: "Work is continuing at a rapid pace to create the new school and community facilities at the six campuses and I am looking forward very much to them opening their doors to pupils, staff and local residents.
"As this continues, we have been considering how to manage most effectively the new facilities that will be provided and this report recommends the way forward for the larger campuses."
Cllr Grant said the council has made a commitment to wide-ranging improvement of the school estate and alongside the Investment in Learning Programme.
They are progressing a number of projects which will see school buildings replaced or significantly upgraded in the near future.
