The tenant led assessments aim to drive up standards and ensure that housing services are focussed on meeting the needs and aspirations of tenants.
A pilot of the tenant led assessments will take place soon and if it's a success then they will be rolled out later in the year.
Tenant assessors will be provided with training to enable them to fulfil their role. The assessments themselves will be rewarding, but will be demanding in terms of time and effort for those involved. To reflect this commitment, tenant inspectors will be paid a nominal sum plus expenses for their time.

Councillor Danny Devlin, convener for construction and housing services: "We have been working closely with tenant representatives to develop these assessments for the range of services delivered by housing including repairs, housing allocations and empty house/tenancy management.
"Our aim is to drive up the standards of service that the council delivers, and the housing service is focused on meeting the needs and aspirations of the people who use the service."
