First Phase Of Football Development Approved

The first phase of Broxburn United Sports Club's £2.5m redevelopment is expected to start in March and includes the development of a new pavilion, changing rooms and ancilliary facilities.

The eagerly awaited confirmation follows approval of a tender for the work at the West Lothian Council's Executive on 24 February.

Livingston based construction company Maxi Construction won the contract (first phase) worth around £1.7m following a competitive tendering process.


Council Leader Peter Johnston said: "The Club has worked hard to secure its new facilities. When complete the new facilities will have a major impact on the delivery of community sport in the Broxburn locality, contributing to increased participation in sport and physical activity.

"This is a great example of how partnership working at a local level can have positive benefits for our communities."

Funding partners in the project include: West Lothian Council, Sportscotland, Robertson Trust, Garnochy Trust, Proceeds of Crime Act (funding from Cashback for Communities scheme), and Broxburn United Sports Club.
