Increasing Recruitment Zone's Space In The Capital

Workplace design specialist Space Solutions are hoping to help boost the success of a leading recruitment firm after completing a refurbishment to its flagship office.

Space Solutions carried out a comprehensive re-design and refit to allow recruitment business Recruitment Zone to maximise the use of its premises, rather than adopt a costly and disruptive relocation.

Recruitment Zone, which also has offices in London and Bolton, wanted to provide a better working environment for its expanding workforce and to create improved areas for meeting clients - moves aimed at driving business growth in 2009.

As part of the refurbishment, Space Solutions designed a new meeting room and chill-out zone as well as re-organising and re-decorating the existing office space at the Ratho Park office near Edinburgh Airport.

Lisa Kwiecinska Recruitment Zone’s Operations Director who arranged the refit of the Edinburgh office, said: "Space Solutions have provided us with an excellent service throughout the refit and we are delighted with the results. We have now maximised the space in our open plan office along with providing a fresh new working environment for our staff."

Recruitment Zone, one of the UK's leading generalist recruitment consultancies, has seen turnover grow 40% over the last five years with a record turnover of £26.5m being achieved in 2008.

It employs 65 staff between its three offices - with the workforce in Edinburgh increasing by 20% - to sit at 30 - over the past year.

Space Solutions is Scotland's biggest independent workplace consultants. It operates UK-wide to design, build, fit out, refurbish and relocate modern and productive business environments.

Space Solutions Business Manager Gary McGurk said the Recruitment Zone project highlights the benefits of Space Solutions' specialist service which ensures workplaces are operating as efficiently as possible

He said: "We specialise in helping clients ensure they are making the most efficient use of their property. In many cases, significant changes can be made without large investment.

"Recruitment Zone was considering a move, but was concerned at both the cost and business disruption involved in a relocation exercise. We were able to show them how they could make better use of their existing premises - allowing them to renegotiate their existing lease."
