Scotland's Largest Building Distribution Trade Show Opens This Thursday

Scotland's largest building distribution trade show will open its doors at Celtic Park's Kerrydale Suite this Thursday with over 60 major companies and organisations taking part.

The show, which is supported by Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK, has been developed to enable the leading suppliers and manufacturers in the building industry to showcase innovative and sustainable building solutions to an audience including architects, contractors, housing associations, and local and national authorities involved in the large scale regeneration projects of Glasgow’s East End and of Glasgow 2014.

In addition to the trade exhibition, the show encompasses an extensive seminar programme where senior executives from the industry will cover some of the key issues facing construction.

These include health and safety, sustainable building solutions and the increasing importance of the repair and maintenance sector and how workflows can be best managed.

The final seminar, presented by Ronnie Saez (Chief Executive of the Glasgow East Regeneration Agency), will present a case study on trading with the public sector and a collaborative approach to Glasgow 2014 and the Clyde Gateway.

Saint-Gobain Building Distribution UK comprises many of the largest names in building material supply including Jewson, the leading supplier of sustainable timber and building products, Graham the UK’s plumbing, heating and sanitaryware specialist and Greenworks a specialist supplier of renewable energy solutions.

Ricky McGarry Jewson Regional Director for Scotland said: "We are delighted to be supporting such an innovative show and to be bringing together best practice from the leading suppliers within the industry and key stake holders involved in the development of the many regeneration projects scheduled throughout Glasgow between now and 2014. It is an event that anyone wishing to be part of the East End regeneration cannot afford to miss."
