Leading the fashion and lifestyle line up at the 65,000m² (700,000sq ft) scheme are Apple, Bestseller, Cult, Zara, M&S, Miss Selfridge, Warehouse, Next and Mamas & Papas.

Recently signed Japanese favourite Yo! Sushi joins other restaurant brands including ASK, Nandos, Chiquito, Frankie & Bennys. Cineworld and Jurys Inn complete the leisure element of the scheme.

Sheila King, Head of Retail Leasing for Hammerson, said: "There is a real buzz surrounding the scheme and the number of new retailers we have secured for the city. We are on track with delivery and announcing the launch date comes ahead of our open day on Sunday, when local people have the opportunity for a preview of the scheme in advance of opening.

"Retailers have been consistently impressed with both the city and our scheme. With the new retail and leisure offer provided by Union Square, Aberdeen will offer visitors a well rounded destination, which is vital in attracting a more widespread and loyal consumer base for our retailers."
