"Achieving Investors in People recognizes the work we have done in terms of training, development and investing in our staff, and provides an effective framework to bring about desired culture changes.

"The standard also provides an accurate audit of current strengths and weaknesses which will help us develop as a company and as individuals."

Provost John Hulbert said: "I would firstly like to congratulate Sidey on their recent Investors in People Award; it certainly is an achievement to be proud of.

"We are all very aware of the current difficulties that local businesses are facing, which is why it is refreshing to hear that a company such as Sidey may be bucking the trend, showing profit and re-investing in their future."

Investors in people is the national standard which sets out a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals.
