Robertson Capital Projects has been shortlisted to become the private sector delivery partner for the first Scottish Futures Trust's Hub scheme.
The trust received 15 applications for the South East initiative - worth £300 million over the next ten years - and has narrowed it down to Robertson Capital Projects, Alba Community Partnerships and Scottish Partnership and Community Enterprise.
This is the first of a series of hub schemes being piloted by the Scottish Futures Trust, which was established by the Scottish Government to pursue value for money in infrastructure investment.
Hub projects, chiefly the construction of new community infrastructure, will be delivered through a "hub Co" formed by the public sector and a private sector development partner.
The project construction contracts will be design and build using public capital or will involve concession agreements using project finance.
Projects included in the first phase of the programme are the construction of a public library and community hub, three community partnership centres and a GP surgery and day care centre.
Participants already committed to work within the South East Territory include the City of Edinburgh, West Lothian, East Lothian, Midlothian, and Scottish Borders councils as well as NHS Lothian, NHS Borders, Lothian and Borders Police Board, and Lothian and Borders Fire & Rescue Service Board.
Robertson executive chairman Bill Robertson, said: "We are very pleased to be shortlisted to deliver the first scheme under the Scottish Futures Trust's Hub initiative.
"Robertson has historically been at the forefront of new procurement initiatives having secured some of the first PFI, PPP, LIFT and BSF contracts in the UK, and more recently being named as one of five Principal Supply Chain Partners on the NHS Scotland Construction Framework, as part of the RD Health consortium.
"Robertson has extensive experience in delivering healthcare and education projects throughout Scotland and we will aim to strengthen this record through this latest procurement initiative."
