Since its launch a year ago, the website –www.tapltd.co.uk – has attracted an average of 1,100 hits a day and the number of sales being made using this method is constantly on the up.

"Traditional selling methods remain very important to us with the customer being the most important person in our company, but internet sales are beginning to take off and our website has given us another valuable shop window for our products," explained proprietor George Mearns.

"We are now selling product (mostly cleaning equipment) to Europe, North and Central Africa and across to Texas and New Orleans. Our three most recent deliveries were to Bangladesh, Nigeria and to an oil rig in the Mediterranean off the coast of Tunisia."
