Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has appointed Sandy Rennie to head up the commercial surveying department at its Inverness office.
Mr Rennie, 36, from Aberdeenshire, studied in Aberdeen prior to pursuing a career in the surveying profession in Dundee and Edinburgh. Most recently acting as a partner at one of the major chartered surveying firms, prior to this Mr Rennie was a divisional director at a UK national commercial property management specialist.
Of his appointment as an associate partner at Shepherd, Mr Rennie said: "Joining Shepherd's represents a fantastic opportunity for me to work with a partnership that’s continuing to progress within challenging economic conditions.
"I know Inverness-shire well and am delighted to be given this opportunity to lead Shepherd’s commercial offering in a region where activity is more buoyant than some other parts of the country and where there is considerable potential for further development."
Chris Grinyer, Managing Partner at Shepherd, based in its Aberdeen office, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Sandy to our expanding commercial team. Given his extensive experience in a variety of senior roles, Sandy's appointment represents a tremendous coup for Shepherd and, following in the wake of a spate of other key appointments and office openings, provides further evidence that Shepherd continues to expand and invest in its offering, despite the challenging economic climate within which we have been operating over the last 12 months or so."
Established over 125 years ago in Scotland, Shepherd delivers a valuation service throughout the UK, from a network of 30 offices throughout Scotland and over 50 locations in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. It offers a multi disciplinary property service that includes: valuation; commercial agency; building surveying; rent reviews; development and investment consultancy; rating and property management. Shepherd is one of the largest independent firms of chartered surveyors in the UK.
