Moray-based asbestos remediation and industrial cleaning company, Northern Asbestos Services, have appointed a Health and Safety Manager as they continue to expand.
NAS have been carrying out remedial work for Dounreay Site Remediation Ltd for the past year-and-a-half and expect to continune working on their current Caithness contract for another 18 months.
The new post has been filled by Mark Sutton (46) who joined the company in January. Originally from Stoke-on-Trent he has lived in the North of Scotland since he moved to Elgin 1981.
Managing Director of Northern Asbestos, Mark Watkins, expressed his delight with the latest addition to the company’s management structure. He said: "Mark Sutton will be a valuable addition to our organisation in terms of his experience of the construction industry and his ability to communicate and deliver a strong health and safety ethos within an organisation.
"Our company is expanding rapidly and we need to ensure that expansion does not come at a price. Appointing someone to this new position will boost our daily and future operations as well as help us deliver new disciplines at a high level."
Mr Sutton joins Northern Asbestos following a number of years as a regional health and safety manager with a large construction company as well as roles as a consultant in the oil and gas industry and with the Ministry of Defence.
Mark is also an active member with various health and safety groups including the Scottish Chamber of Safety and the Highlands and Islands Safety Forum. The new NAS health and safety manager said: "I view my appointment to Northern Asbestos as a great opportunity to expand the company’s existing high standards as they look to move into alternative markets."
