Archial Architects has won the British Council for Offices’ Scotland Commercial Workplace of the Year Award for 141 Bothwell Street, the Grade A 10 storey office development located in the heart of Glasgow's International Financial Services District.
Designed by Archial’s Edinburgh office, 141 Bothwell Street was the first building of its type in Glasgow to achieve BREEAM Excellent status – a designation reflecting the property’s environmental credentials. The building provides large floor plates of up to 20,000 sq ft, giving a total of 180,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation and 60 car spaces.
Developed by Premier Property Group (PPG), 141 Bothwell Street was recently bought by Aberdeen Property Investors acting on behalf of Strathclyde Pension Fund for £66.5 million.
Cameron Walker, Director at Archial Architects, said: "We're delighted to win this BCO award for what has proven to be a very successful development.
"Described by one of the BCO judges as a building that 'does what it says on the tin', 141 Bothwell Street was designed to meet market needs and evidence of its popularity can be found in the fact that, despite the challenging economic environment, not only is it fully let, but it recently sold at a good price."
Meanwhile, 141 Bothwell Street tenant PricewaterhouseCoopers won the BCO Scotland Fit-out of the Year award, just weeks after Archial completed the £2.5 million fit-out for Shell Shared Services within the same building.
