The improvements will include removing the town centre’s traffic lights and ensuring the roads and footpaths are resurfaced and street furniture replaced to create a more welcoming environment for visitors to the town.
The traffic signals at the Cross, the War Memorial and East Burnside will be removed and replaced with give-way junctions and pedestrian crossings will be installed away from the junctions to control the traffic at peak times.

The junction at the east end of St Catherine Street will be widened and priority will be given to two-way traffic on the A91, with side roads giving way.
The design of the new town centre layout is now complete and the £1.6million funding package has been identified within existing budgets.
When the land purchases have been finalised Fife Council will issue the contract for tender.
Vice-Chair of the Environment, Enterprise & Transportation Committee, Cllr.Ross Vettraino, commented: “This is fantastic news for Cupar. Improving the traffic flow and reducing congestion will encourage more visitors to the town and give the local economy a much-needed boost.”
