A not-for-profit organisation dedicated to upholding standards in the glazing industry has been approved as a new scheme operator for the glazing and conservatory trades by TrustMark.
Certass will also help to recruit new firms to the Government endorsed quality mark, which helps consumers find reliable and trustworthy local tradesmen.
TrustMark operates a framework under which 30 plus scheme operators work in the repair, maintenance and improvement sector.
Certass brings more than 1,200 new glazing firms into the TrustMark scheme and it will continue to add further firms over the coming months.
These firms will form part of TrustMark's unique trades search engine which enables consumers to find trustworthy tradesmen.
Established in 2006, Certass enables companies that install replacement windows, doors and associated glazing products in the home to self certify compliance under the relevant UK Building Regulations.
Managing Director for Certass, Barrie Smith-Wright, welcomed the opportunity to work with TrustMark and said they were delighted to have achieved scheme operator status. He stated: "It is a positive step forward for Certass as we are now in a position to offer our registered firms the opportunity to generate more business from homeowners who care about quality.
"Our objective is to ensure that the public recognise Certass as meeting the highest standards within the glazing industry, and by being TrustMark approved, we will be able to deliver a competitive advantage for our members."
