New Housing and Welfare Minister has opened a £9 Million Affordable Housing Development in Kincardine.
Charles Milne, Chairperson of Kingdom, said: "The project has been a significant redevelopment of the area, providing good quality new homes to meet the needs of tenants who previously lived in the high flats. As most of the tenants were known to us beforehand, we had the opportunity to involve them in the design of the project and were able to introduce more elements of tenant choice into the proposals.
The project also allowed us to incorporate various community initiatives, such as training and employment opportunities; educational projects with the local primary school and community arts projects."
Ms Burgess said: "Kingdom Housing Association is to be congratulated for the completion of this latest project, which will provide affordable, energy efficient homes for people in Fife.
"This 65 property development has been backed by a £4.5 investment from the Scottish Government, demonstrating our on going commitment to supporting housing associations and their tenants.
"It is my firm belief that everyone in Scotland should live in safe, affordable homes that not only meet their needs, but support the development of sustainable communities. This project is a perfect example of strong partnership working between Kingdom Housing Association, the Scottish Government and the private sector, and I wish Kingdom all the best with this new endeavour."
The project was designed by Oliver and Robb Architects and built for Kingdom by Campion Homes. During the design stage the architects facilitated various meetings with the local community when developing the design proposals.
