Aberdeenshire Council has marked the finishing of 37 new homes in Banff at an opening ceremony.
The new homes, at Old School Place, are the first council homes in the town in nearly ten years.
Councillors were shown around the new developments, the completion of which forms part of ‘Phase 2’ of council house building in Banff.
Chair of the Social Work and Housing Committee, Councillor Karen Clark, said: "The council is working hard to create homes for people and reduce its waiting list by building properties that meet the highest standards.
"It is exciting to see the new developments take shape, from this one in Banff to the other projects across the area that are at different stages. The feedback from tenants is very positive so far.
Vice chair Alisan Norrie added: "It has been a number of years since Aberdeenshire Council has been able to build houses in some of our towns. These purpose built properties will make a difference to the lives of the new tenants for many years to come."
The council's programme of council house building has already seen the development of 142 new homes across Aberdeenshire.
A further 21 units will also be completed in the next few months in Stonehaven and Cruden Bay.
The new Banff council homes have been developed on the site of the former Banff Primary School, which had become a brownfield site.
Aberdeenshire Council currently has around 7,000 people on its housing waiting list and has secured over £4m in total from the Scottish Government towards the cost of building 163 new homes.
