Aberdeen City Council has chosen Lovell to carryout a £3.7m refurbishment programme for three multi-storeys.
The city tower blocks will receive new rainscreen cladding with insulation and windows.
Lovell will be working on three 14-storey high-rises: Grampian Court, Brimmond Court and Morven Court in the Balnagask area of Aberdeen.
The firm is also undertaking to re-roof the blocks and carry out minor structural repairs.
Residents will be able to remain in their homes as the year-long development goes ahead, while an on-site Lovell resident liaison officer will be the main point of contact for tenants.
Lovell was awarded the contract through a competitive tendering process and work is due to start in January 2013.
Councillor Neil Cooney, convener of Aberdeen City Council's Housing and Environment Committee, said: "I am delighted that the council has now appointed Lovell to carry out this vital work which will be of huge benefit to residents, helping to dramatically reduce their fuel bills.
"These structural repairs and upgrades will increase the energy efficiency of hard to heat homes in what is one of the city’s most vulnerable areas. It will also ensure that these blocks remain structurally sound for the next 30 years or so.
"In addition to the structural work, there are plans to upgrade the heating systems in these three blocks. A high proportion of residents in these properties are currently in fuel poverty and the provision of a new communal heating system, combined with the structural upgrades by Lovell, will go a long way to address this situation."
Lovell regional director Alan Taylor, said: "This programme of work will comprehensively transform the three tower blocks, creating warmer, more modern homes for residents. We bring considerable expertise in high-rise refurbishment to the scheme and will be working very closely with residents and the City Council throughout."
