Members of the Scottish Borders Council (SBC) are expected to agree funding for plans to develop new sports pitches in the Borders.
The meeting will take place tomorrow.
Councillors will be asked to approve the £60k funding that will start the planning work for new full-size '3G' pitches in Peebles, Jedburgh and Kelso. The Council will also take forward a new full sized '2G' artificial pitch in Selkirk as well as one in Peebles as part of the Peebles sports hall and facilities project.
Over the next few years SBC will work in partnership with sportscotland, local sports clubs and communities to deliver the ambitious programme of new sports facilities.
Announcing the proposals, Councillor Vicky Davidson, Executive Member for Culture, Sport, Youth and Communities said: "This is a significant investment over the next four years and we are committed to improving sports facilities throughout our region.
"These pitches will make a significant difference to school and community sports provision and we have already had excellent input from sportscotland. We will seek to work in very close partnership with local communities through the new community sports hubs as we take this ambitious programme forward."
The funding would take forward the planning and design process for the new pitches and the Council is set to announce the timetable for the pitches construction in due course - but they are all being programmed to be delivered within the next four years.
SBC has previously said it is committed to delivering new artificial pitches in all of the high school catchment areas in the lifetime of the current Administration.
