The global programme management and construction consultancy is involved with a major redevelopment of Glasgow's Citizens Theatre.
It is the first major redevelopment of the facility in 30 years after a number of minor works were carried out, also by Turner & Townsend, 13 years ago.
The new project is worth £6.5m.
Built in 1876 the Citizens’ stage boasts the most complete working Victorian theatre machinery in the UK, making this a highly technical undertaking requiring careful attention to detail to safe guard its architectural features.
The improvements will involve the restoration of the existing space as well as substantial extensions and new builds, which will increase the size of the theatre by 20%.

New features include an open 'court' area for visitors to meet and enjoy refreshments, new kitchens and administrative offices, three professional rehearsal rooms, workshop spaces and a stylish new entrance.
Renovations are set to begin this summer, with priority being given to an upgrade of the theatre's seats in the stalls of the main auditorium.
Subject to funds being secured, the major construction work is anticipated to commence in 2016/17.

"This is large-scale project and one which will require a delicate balance to ensure the refurbishments undertaken are not only sympathetic to the design of the Grade B listed building but also deliver the best return on investment."
Citizens Theatre Artistic Director, Dominic Hill, added: "Appointing Turner & Townsend as cost managers brings us another step closer to realising our ambitious re-development which will ensure that the Citizens remains a building that the local community and the whole of Glasgow can feel ownership of and take pride in."
