Fairmuir Tennis Courts are currently being refurbished in an improvement drive for the sport within the city.
On Thursday, Depute Environment Convener Vari McDonald visited the site, and said: "This is one of our initial actions to improve tennis courts in the city.
"In addition to Fairmuir and South Road, we are also preparing a bid to improve the facilities at Dawson Park.

"This initiative is not only to encourage budding 'Andy Murrays' but is for everybody to come and try the sport. We are keen for people to keep active in their local parks and open spaces."
There are restoration works for council-managed tennis courts at Fairmuir and South Road parks, and improvements include resurfacing, painting and re-aligning of the courts, with new nets and posts.
Initial works of the project are now substantially complete and the courts are due to re-open to the public.
Elsewhere, once the surface is cured, the final treatment will be carried out later this month.
This investment forms part of a longer-term action plan to improve tennis courts in the city and encourage more people to play.
