Clackmannanshire Council's new Head of Housing, Ahsan Khan, has started his new role.
Mr Khan was previously Chief Executive of Loreburn Housing Association, and is a former board member of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations. He has also served on the boards of the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and the Scottish Housing Association Pension Scheme.
In February, Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs, Roseanna Cunningham, announced the appointment of Mr Khan to the Housing Members of the Private Rented Housing Panel and the Homeowner Housing Panel.
As a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, as well as holding qualifications from three universities - Dundee, Edinburgh and the Open University - Mr Khan was Chief Executive of Loreburn Housing Association in Dumfries. He has served with the SFHA Board since 2007.
He began housing career in local government in Dundee, before moving to Edinburgh, North East Fife, and then Fife Council.
Speaking of his appointment, Mr Khan said: "I am delighted to be joining Clackmannanshire Council as it has a first class reputation in Scottish local authority housing circles. I am very much looking forward to the challenges of helping the Council continue to deliver excellent value for money services, and to ensure we meet the standards and outcomes set out for landlords in the Scottish Government's new Social Housing Charter."
Council Leader, Councillor Gary Womersley added: "We are very pleased that Ahsan has joined us in this important post.
"His record of achievement is impressive and I am sure he will make a significant contribution to the success of the Council in the years ahead. We are delighted to welcome him to Clackmannanshire."
