The eastbound carriageway of South Marketgait is to close to all traffic overnight on Sunday 20 October as part of Dundee Council's ongoing work at the Central Waterfront.
South Marketgait is being re-aligned at its junction with Commercial Street and work includes the lowering of the carriageway and the installation of a pedestrian crossing and high friction surfacing.
In order to keep the public and workforce safe as work is ongoing, the Council has said the eastbound carriageway of South Marketgait, from the new T-junction at the railway station to Trades Lane, will close from 5pm on Sunday evening (20 October) until 7am on Monday morning with any noisy operations completed by 11pm.
If weather conditions restrict contractors Sir Robert McAlpine from safely completing the phase of work, Monday (21 October) and Sunday (27 October) have also been reserved for the closure with the start time of no earlier than 7pm on the Monday evening.
Diversions will be in place for motorists, with vehicles being diverted from Riverside Drive at the railway station around the inner ring road. Gellatly Street will be temporarily opened at the north (from Seagate) to allow access and egress to the area, including the car park, while access to South Marketgait from Commercial Street will be via Seagate to East Dock Street.
For traffic approaching from the east to use the Tay Road Bridge or the inner ring road, it will remain unaffected.
