The LDP will create a blueprint for the future of the area and will include plans to determine where new developments – such as housing – should be located, between 2017 and 2027.
The local authority is now asking for residents, developers and anyone else in the local area to share their views on a Main Issues Report. The report is designed to encourage debate on which policies and development options should ultimately be included in the Proposed Local Development Plan.

A total of 42 consultation events will be held throughout Aberdeenshire to allow people to share their views. The process started this week and will run until 31 January 2014.
Aberdeenshire Council's Infrastructure Services Committee (ISC) Chairman, Peter Argyle, has urged locals to get involved with the process.
ISC Vice Chair, Alan S. Buchan, added: "The Main Issues report is a key part in the consultation on the next Local Development Plan and this represents the main opportunity available to influence the content of the proposed plan.
"We want to hear views from local people about the issues important to them, as this will help us to form the Proposed Local Development Plan next year."
