The Homexchange Shop is the first of its kind in Scotland and sees the local council, as well as seven partner housing associations working together to support and help tenants looking to move to a more suitable property.
Councillor Tommy Williams, Convener of the Housing and Community Safety Policy Board, said: "This is another step forward in what has been a robust response from Renfrewshire Council to the 'bedroom tax'.

"We hope that through our innovative approach to open a shop that's dedicated to helping tenants exchange, we can in turn support those who are struggling to cope as a result of the UK Government's Under Occupancy Rules.
"By working closer than ever with our partners, we're doing all we can to support tenants who feel that their home no longer meets their requirements.
"So if you are a council or housing association tenant and you want to move – whether it's a result of the 'bedroom tax' or because you simply want a home that better suits your needs, then please call the Homexchange Shop to arrange an appointment."
The shop, which is located on Moss Street, Paisley, is a partnership between Renfrewshire Council and Linstone, Paisley South, Ferguslie Park, Williamsburgh, Sanctuary, Horizon, and Link Housing Associations.
