One of Edinburgh's most ambitious affordable housing projects has been completed.
The new Quartermile development, which is situated in the city centre, included 900 properties – 174 of which are affordable homes.
They were delivered as part of Edinburgh Council's Affordable Housing Policy.
The construction was also made possible by the Scottish Government's Affordable Housing Supply Programme (AHSP) which awarded £6.867m of grant funding to be administered by the Council, while Hillcrest Housing Association invested a further £5.845m.
The development is made up of a mix of one, two and three-bed flats, with 98 available for social rent and 76 available at mid-market rent levels. A further seven flats have been specially designed to be accessible for wheelchair users.
Housing Leader, Councillor Cammy Day, said: "The completion of high-quality, affordable housing in such a central and iconic location is a great achievement for the Council and its partners and is also an important milestone for social housing in the city.
"It demonstrates our commitment to build more affordable properties throughout Edinburgh and shows that ambitious projects like this can be delivered as part of our strategy to ensure that more people in the capital have access to a high standard of modern, energy efficient social housing."
The Quartermile redevelopment as a whole occupies a 19-acre site in the Lauriston area of Edinburgh, overlooking the Meadows and consists of new-build apartments, flats converted from the old Royal Infirmary hospital buildings, offices and retail units.
