A proposal for an £8 million renovation of the universities Butchart Centre student union building and a £100 million pound energy research centre are two projects currently on hold. All of the capital expenditure projects which have yet to begin have been delayed for three months.
The university revealed their plans to create the facility four months ago, describing it as a centre of excellence in research, innovation and teaching.

The centre will also serve as a venue to host events, functions and exhibitions.
A spokesman for the university said: "We are currently reviewing all aspects of our expenditure, including ensuring that our 10-year capital plan dovetails with the Strategic Plan we are now finalising.
"This includes a pause for three months in development of projects which are at an early design stage, including the new Student Union, Energy Building, CASS Modernisation and Teaching Facilities, and Dunbar project."
The announcement has been made less than two weeks after the university revealed new voluntary staff measures and retirement plans for the institution in an effort to save money.
The proposed location for the new purpose-built Energy Building is close to the university’s Sir Duncan Rice Library, on a site at the corner of St Machar Drive and Bedford Road.
The university said it is currently reviewing all aspects of its expenditure, but anticipates resuming the projects in the summer.
