Work has begun on a 20 acre housing development in South Gye, Edinburgh by Persimmon Homes East Scotland.
Persimmon has started building 204 properties at its £24 million development named Station Mews, whilst preparation to begin working on a £17.6 million housing development in Larbert is underway.
Building at the historic St Augustine's School site, Persimmon said the site will feature a mix of homes, offering 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes along with a range of 2 bedroom apartments.
The development is set to launch on 28th March with the first properties to be completed in November 2015.
Managing Director for Persimmon Homes East Scotland Jim Kirkpatrick said: "We are delighted to get construction underway and address the known demand for our quality new homes in the central Edinburgh area.
"We are confident that the range of properties on offer will meet the needs of the local housing market and appeal to families just starting out as well as those looking to move to a bigger home with more space."
£518,476 of Section 75 funding will be contributed by the development for educational purposes in the community and deliver 51 mixed tenure 'affordable homes'.
Persimmon Homes East Scotland will build a total of 128 homes at the 2nd development, with the site being based at the former Bellsdyke Hospital in Kinnaird Village, with Falkirk Council giving their approval in February 2015.
A collection of 93 semi-detached new Persimmon homes will feature at the new site containing 35 detached 4, 5 and 6 bedroom executive homes with a central open space surrounded by woodland developed by Persimmon Homes' sister brand Charles Church.
Mr Kirkpatrick added: "Our further investment in Larbert is testament to our commitment to support the local community, create jobs and enhance a site which has laid vacant for many years.
"A new and thriving community is already forming at Kinnaird Village with a primary school and retail units already established."
