Dumfries and Galloway Council has announced the Learning Town design proposals are to go on display later this month.
Plans include the redevelopment of four secondary schools, delivering a Learning Hub and providing accommodation for children with additional support needs.
Property issues will also be addressed at four primary schools.
In March 2014, the council agreed a ten year capital investment strategy to provide funding for phase one of the project.
It was also agreed that phase two should be planned in conjunction with the first phase.
Significant investigation and survey work has been carried out at all phase two sites to ascertain the condition of the existing sites.
The Learning Town project team will be previewing designed at a series of engagement events for the public, users and stakeholder in the coming weeks:
• 13 June, 9am to 6pm: The Stove, High Street.
• 15 June, 9am to 9pm: Maxwelltown High School.
• 16 June, 9am to 9pm: St Joseph's College.
• 17 June, 9am to 9pm: Dumfries Academy.
• 18 June, 9am to 9pm: Dumfries High School.
Councillor Jeff Leaver said: "Providing the best start in life for all our children is a priority for our Council.
"Dumfries Learning Town is an exciting project that will deliver long-term sustainable education facilities.
"Following extensive preparatory work carried out by the project team, the public and other stakeholders will now be able to see the potential designs that have been developed."
