Following a comprehensive assessment of its work practices, eco Insulate has been welcomed into the Trusted Trader scheme run by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Similar schemes running in Dundee, Fife, East Lothian, West Lothian and Renfrewshire have proved successful.
The scheme is aimed at the Home improvement sector and forms local business partnerships which aim to increase consumer confidence, promote good practice within local businesses and help to protect local people from doorstep crime.
Anyone on the scheme will have been checked by Trading Standards to make sure they are trading legally. Participating members must adhere to the terms and conditions of the Trusted Trader scheme and their business practices are subject to ongoing monitoring by Trading Standards. A directory of local businesses is published which allows previous customers to comment and rate their work.
Colin Davidson, Surveying and Estimating Manager for eco Insulate Ltd said: "In a very competitive marketplace , schemes such as this being run by Dumfries and Galloway Council serve to protect the public from less reputable companies who may use high pressure or doubtful sales techniques to secure work. It’s also helpful to reputable businesses as a way of combating those relying on low prices and questionable business practices."
The Council’s appraisal of eco Insulate’s application included the existence of relevant Third Party insurance, evidence of their experience and qualifications in relation to the services provided and to have had no significant customer complaints.
It is also necessary for the Company to be willing to issue customer feedback cards, returned by customers to the Council.
In this respect the 94% customer rating of very good/excellent for Eco Insulate’s quality and customer experience must have contributed to the success of their application.
