Construction News Image
A new multimillion-pound education campus is to be built in Clackmannanshire.

The council agreed to build a Tullibody South Campus at its meeting on Thursday, 11 August following a six-week community consultation.

The new facility will incorporate a new build of Abercromby PS as well as a relocation and new build of St Bernadette's PS within the grounds of Abercromby Primary school.

The council has agreed to allocate £11.25 million towards the project, with £5.35 million secured through the Scottish Government Schools for the Future fund.

Officers will now work to progress the project and construction is to begin in autumn 2017.

Cllr George Matchett said: "I am very pleased that the Council has agreed to the building of a new Abercromby PS and new St Bernadette's PS within the grounds of Abercromby. This was clearly the overwhelming choice of the local community in the consultation that was undertaken.

"The Council will now move forward to securing the delivery of these exciting new school buildings for Abercromby and St Bernadette's, with further discussions with these communities taking place."

A further report will be brought to the Council in the new year to provide information on continued stakeholder engagement and design proposals.
