A £14 million social housing development being delivered in Glasgow is on schedule to be completed in 2017, Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) has revealed.
The 130-home scheme at Dougrie Drive, Castlemilk is being built by CCG on behalf of the Association.
As GHA's third largest new-build project this year, features include a mixture of one-and two-bedroom flats, along with two-and three-bedroom houses.
The development is made up of a two-storey 'amenity' block of 56 flats for older residents, including a common room, a laundry, lifts and a communal garden, as well as special features such as wet-floor showers.
The other 74 'lifetime' properties will feature step-free access, wider door frames, reinforced walls for fixing grab rails and stair lifts, and space for the inclusion of a downstairs shower room.
Each home is being delivered to high energy efficiency standards, with an EcoHomes rating of ‘Very Good'. The housing will help rehome people whose houses have been demolished as part of Glasgow's overall regeneration.
GHA Chair Bernadette Hewitt said: "GHA's ambitious new-build programme has already changed lives for the better across Glasgow.
"This new development is not only one of the most significant developments in Castlemilk for several years, but also one of the most significant in Glasgow.
"I am looking forward to seeing these homes take shape, and provide much-needed warm, safe and affordable homes that will respond to our customers' changing needs throughout their lives."
