Dragados UK is looking for supply chain organisations to help deliver a £350 million expansion project at Aberdeen Harbour.
The principal contractor will host a 'Meet the Buyer' event later this month showcasing a range of opportunities for firms to gain as the expansion project takes place. A previous event held on 01 February attracted over 120 representatives from local businesses.
The multi-million pound scheme will create new harbour facilities and associated infrastructure at Nigg Bay, to the south of the existing harbour.
Features include 1,400 metres of new quay, with a water depth of up to 10.5 metres and will create an additional 125,000 square metres of lay-down area. The development is scheduled for completion in 2020.
Local organisations specialising in the following disciplines are invited to attend the 'Meet the Buyer' event; piling, precast concrete, photography, waste management, traffic management, reinforcement suppliers, cranage, noise and environmental monitoring.
Council Leader Jenny Laing said: "The Aberdeen Harbour expansion has huge potential for businesses in the area to become involved in one of the biggest infrastructure developments the harbour area has experienced."
Ruben Casanova, Dragados UK, AHEP Project Director, added: "Dragados UK is committed to ensuring that the Aberdeen Harbour expansion project brings real opportunities to local businesses within the city.
"Our Meet the Buyer events, delivered in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, are a demonstration of that commitment and we look forward to developing our relationships with local suppliers and to hosting future events with the City Council."
The event will take place in the Town House on Monday, 27 February.
