Robertson Group is continuing work on a £36 million regeneration scheme at Whitley Bay in North Tyneside
The Stirling-based company's Specialist Division has started bespoke rendering on a Premier Inn hotel, as well as restoring the Grade II-listed Spanish City Dome landmark.
The restoration of the Dome was procured by Robertson through the Scape National Major Works framework.
The hotel is expected to be completed by this June, while the first phase of work on the Spanish City Dome will be finished by Spring 2018.
Jim Wason, director of Robertson Specialist Division, said: "Our arrival on site signifies that work is nearly completed on the new hotel – and we are working closely with all the other Robertson businesses involved in both the hotel and Dome projects to deliver as efficiently as possible.
"The regeneration work will bring more visitors and businesses to Whitley Bay and its coastline, as well as increasing confidence in the borough among businesses and Robertson is proud to be a part of it as it begins to take shape."
North Tyneside's Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn, added: "I am delighted that the new Premier Inn hotel and restaurant is nearly built now and ready to welcome guests from all over the country to Whitley Bay – everyone involved in the construction has done such a good job.
"This is such a positive development and, along with the excellent progress we're making as part of our Seafront Master Plan as well as the increased investment from the private sector going on at the coast, it is really helping put Whitley Bay back on the map and increasing confidence in the town, and will prove a major boost for the whole borough."
Mark Robinson, Scape Group Chief Executive, said: "The new hotel will go hand-in-hand with the restoration of the historic Spanish City Dome, ensuring Whitley Bay remains a top tourist destination as well as bringing landmark change to the local area."
