Work on a new residential development in Falkirk is now complete.
CCG has built 18 new flats for social rent on the site of the former Larbert Police Station, and the Council's Registry Office, at Main Street in Stenhousemuir.
'The Old Police Station' extends to three-storeys and each flat has been built behind the new stone façade, developed to replicate the original two-storey Victorian façade.
Features include a lift for wheelchair access, on-site parking, gardens, and drying areas. Residents will also benefit from enhanced energy savings due to the efficiencies provided by room zoned underfloor heating, and electricity generation for each flat from the provision of designated solar PV panels.
CCG's iQ Closed Panel Timber Frame System was utilised for the project, allowing the overall scheme to be delivered over a 57-week period.
The development forms part of Falkirk Council's new build housing investment programme, which aims to deliver over 160 new council houses for rent in the next five years.
Alastair Wylie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CCG, said: "CCG has extensive experience in the delivery of projects like 'The Old Police Station'. We understand the significance of historical preservation due to the level of care required on site, as well as acknowledging the requirement to rejuvenate a popular local landmark so to deliver this project on time and on budget is an outstanding achievement."
Margaret Wilson, Neighbourhood Co-ordinator for Falkirk Council, added: "We are delighted with this new build Council housing development, which provides additional Council housing for rent in the centre of Stenhousemuir. The development has proved very popular, and we have received very positive feedback generally from local residents happy to see the site redeveloped. We have also received feedback from tenants who are delighted with their new homes."
