The projects received funding in the first round of grants from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme, along with four other UK projects.
The Energy Redress Scheme aims to distribute available funds to support energy consumers in vulnerable situations and develop products or services which would provide a benefit for certain groups of energy consumers.

Fintry Development Trust in Stirlingshire was awarded £40k to help the installation of a ground source community heating network, servicing 22 properties currently heated by electric storage heaters and electric boilers.
A further £35,900 was awarded to Urras Sgire Oighreachd Bharabhais Community Company for a cooking and light energy saving programme in Lewis. The company will collaborate with the Energy Advisory Service to provide free slow cookers and LED lighting for households in the Barvas Estate area as part of an education programme on efficient lighting and cooking. The home visits for installations will enable local residents to take up in-depth energy advice, encompassing energy billing, insulation, installation of carbon monoxide monitors and referrals to support agencies.
