Most of the work used an innovative re-lining method, which allows existing pipes to be renewed from the inside via existing manholes, avoiding the need for widespread excavations and reducing disruption for customers. Localised repairs were also carried out using traditional methods where necessary.

The targeted work took place after CCTV surveys identified sections of the sewer that were in need of maintenance to ensure they continue to serve customers effectively.
Scottish Water Corporate Affairs Manager Gavin Steel said: "We would like to thank customers in Albany Terrace for their patience, both in the summer when final preparations were made and last month when we were working on site.
"Our team worked hard to inform residents and keep any disruption to a minimum, but we appreciate the work will have caused some short term inconvenience. Now that it has been completed, the sewers will be able to continue serving our customers in the area for many years to come."
