Mott MacDonald Announces New Director Of Roads Scotland

Mott MacDonald has announced the appointment of Mark Baynham as their new Director of Roads Scotland.

Mr Baynham joins Mott MacDonald from the UK Government's Cabinet Office and has 30 years of experience in roads and the public sector. He will be responsible for delivering projects and developing the consultancy's offering throughout Scotland.

Mark Baynham is a chartered civil engineer. Prior to the Cabinet Office, Mark worked for Transport Scotland and consultants Jacobs, where he managed the procurement of complex multi-billion Scottish trunk road services and led many transportation infrastructure projects across Europe and Australasia. He is also an experienced business leader having managed project portfolios of £70m fees at director level across the globe.

At Mott MacDonald, Mark will be responsible for the delivery of the consultancy's portfolio of roads projects across Scotland, including work for Transport Scotland. He will lead its roads teams in Glasgow and Edinburgh, helping them to deliver excellent client solutions and social outcomes.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark said: "I am very excited to be working with Transport Scotland again and our partners on their many opportunities, as Scotland continues to improve its trunk road infrastructure, and in the year of COP26, achieve its net zero carbon targets.
