Arc-Tech (Scotland) has announced that work has got underway on a new community hub in North Ayrshire.
The new £4.2m Garnock Visitor & Community Hub is located in Garnock Valley, adjacent to Kilbirnie Loch, and will offer improved facilities for Garnock Rugby Club with the creation of six, new changing rooms as well valuable space for the local community and sports groups.
A viewing balcony overlooking the rugby pitches as well as a 60-seater café will also be created as a means of attracting people to the area and helping to support North Ayrshire's growing tourism sector.
The project Construction Main Contractor, CCG (Scotland) began construction on behalf of hub South West who are delivering the project for North Ayrshire Council last spring with Arc-Tech's M&E Services package supporting formal completion this summer.
The service offering provided by Arc-Tech is a turnkey solution and includes MEPH Plant, above-ground drainage and ventilation, as well as water, LTHW, data, and security and solar photovoltaic panels, amongst others.
John Gallacher, Arc-Tech (Scotland) Managing Director, said: "The Garnock Community Hub will be a valued asset for the local community upon its completion later this year. The progress on-site to date has been very positive and our expert contract team will now undertake first and second fix M&E Services as well as full testing and commissioning in advance of the final handover later this year."
The Garnock Community Hub is supported by funding from the Scottish Government's Regeneration Capital Grant Fund, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Scottish Enterprise, Sport Scotland, Land Trust, and the Garnock Rugby Club.
