Sustainability specialist Eco has been named as a double winner at the prestigious Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards 2022.

Eco was named Outstanding Large Business of the Year, while Managing Director Eddie Black picked up the Outstanding Business Person award.

The winners were announced at a black tie event at Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries, where representatives from businesses throughout the region gathered to recognise and celebrate their achievements.

After picking up the awards, Eddie paid tribute to his team, which includes more than 70 people.

He said: "These awards are a result of the team's positive attitude and commitment to making a difference to the business and to the community. The past two years have been challenging for everyone, and I'm extremely proud of the way we have pulled together to create opportunities, build on our successes and been flexible and adaptable to the changing business landscape."

"We want to create something which is sustainable, something that lasts, and has a positive impact, not only for Eco but also for the economy in Dumfries and Galloway and for our communities."

Eddie has grown the company he founded 12 years ago offering dry ice blasting services into a business which now offers multiple products and services for clients including multinational companies. Eco recently launched the first product in its EcoGoZero range of products aimed at helping businesses, homeowners and the UK achieve net zero targets. The firm has exclusive UK distribution of the BriXcell, which is a simple, compact electric vehicle charging solution.

Eddie said his ambition is for Eco Group to be one of the leading businesses in Scotland and to put Dumfries and Galloway on the map.

He continued: "We want to create something which is sustainable, something that lasts, and has a positive impact, not only for Eco but also for the economy in Dumfries and Galloway and for our communities."

Organised by Dumfries & Galloway Chamber of Commerce, the Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses which are making their mark in Dumfries and Galloway and beyond.
