CCG has announced that construction works have begun on a new, luxury care home located in Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline.
Located at Harbour Way just north of the popular town centre, the new development will consist of 68, private en-suite beds and various integrated amenities for residents over the age of sixty-five including a hair salon, cinema, dining rooms, and private gardens as well as specialist, 24/7 residential, nursing and dementia care services.
Specially-designed to create a "home-from-home" environment, the project is being led by the award-winning care home developer, Morrison Community Care and CCG (Scotland), and is the first that will officially be taken forward as part of the firm's joint venture company which was launched in early-2021.
Having worked together since 2017, the aim of the newly-created and greatly innovative partnership is to combine the company's recognised expertise in care and construction to create a sustained output of high-quality accommodation to support Scotland's growing, ageing population.
The development is designed by Holmes Miller and construction is set to last just over a 1-year duration.
Paul Sokhi, Managing Director of Morrison Community Care Group, said:
"I am delighted to see that works have commenced at Dalgety Bay Luxury Suites. This is a big milestone in our partnership with CCG (Scotland) and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved in getting to this stage.
"It is undeniable that demand for accommodation for the elderly is growing across the country and in this post-pandemic era, it is crucial that we continue to support our ageing population not just in the provision of quality accommodation but by also creating an environment that supports their health and wellbeing.
"With the creation of jobs and a development that will be class-leading for residential, nursing and dementia care services, we believe this new development will contribute greatly to the local economy of Dunfermline and I look forward to its official opening in 2023."
CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, said: "After having successfully completed two developments together in 2021, contributing over 100 beds including Roselea Court, the Scottish Property Award Healthcare Development of the Year for 2022, in Stirling, Dalgety Bay Luxury Suites will be the first of many that will be delivered as part of our innovative joint venture company, Morrison Community Care (CCG) Holdco Ltd. We are delighted that this has brought us to Fife I look forward to seeing how works will progress over the coming months."
Undertaken on a full Design & Build basis, early contractor engagement with the client and design team drives efficiencies during the pre-construction process to ensure best value in the creation of Dalgety Bay and other developments like it. CCG then provides a 'whole' construction service, realising its delivery (and ensuring quality) through an integrated mix of main contracting; the manufacture of panelised timber systems and enhanced window and door sets; plumbing; M&E; multi-utilities, and flooring supply.
This process and a partnership fostered on collaboration have helped to deliver over 200 beds for the elderly since 2017 across the breadth of central Scotland.
