Construction News Image
BEAR Scotland is bolstering its workforce in communities across South East Scotland, recruiting for over 40 roles based in locations including Eyemouth, St Boswells, Bonnyrigg and Queensferry.

The roles BEAR Scotland is recruiting for include highway maintenance operatives, winter service drivers, roads inspectors, roads maintenance, road safety and traffic engineers and technicians at all levels.

The trunk road operating company is hosting recruitment open days in Eyemouth and Galashiels, and there will also be information available for anyone interested in opportunities across the wider area of the South East.

In 2020 BEAR Scotland began an eight-year contract to manage and maintain the trunk road network in South East Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland. This covers 506km of trunk roads through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. It includes routes such as the Edinburgh City Bypass, as well as a large section of the M8 connecting Edinburgh to Glasgow. The South East Unit also includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge, as well as other major bridges such as the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge.
