Built environment consultancy Arup has won four Institution of Structural Engineers' Scottish Structural awards.

The awards ceremony, held in Glasgow on 27 October, celebrated the best structural projects completed by Scottish design engineers within the last two years.

Arup was presented with four awards out of a possible ten categories, which reflected the industries' focus on good design, sustainability, and environmental responsibility:

• The University of Strathclyde's Learning & Teaching Building: Best Modern (Post 1960) Building Refurbishment Project

Arup were integral to the creation of this project, delivering the structural engineering design for the refurbishment and adaptive re-use of two existing buildings (one Grade B listed) with a significant new-build hub building constructed around and between both buildings. Arup's involvement supported the University to create a sustainable building that enhances the student experience and places their journey and wellbeing at its heart.
